Just the 2 of us :-(

Well Callum has just landed back in London and is catching the bus back to Cardiff now. Rhian is popping over to see him this evening, then he moves into Uni halls on Thursday.
Both of them have started really exciting times in their lives and we feel very far away. They will not look back and will soon feel that NZ was ages ago!
Very sad to say farewell.
However Malcolm has already started planning exciting adventures for their trip next year which could include a road trip across Australia!

Rhian is in the middle of her 3rd week as a Year 4 primary teacher which has been challenging and daunting at times but she is getting the class sorted out! She is also loving being in her new flat which is a far cry from the student flats she has had for the last few years!

Just before we took Cal up to Auckland to catch the plane Malcom decided he wanted to visit the Big Mac exhibition (not burgers but trucks!)

In Auckland we visited the museum and zoo with our own natural history student.

Then back to a flat with just the 2 of us! Missing them already

Last weeks of holiday with Callum

Before Callum left we had some great adventures.
Callum went for off for a couple of days to Raglan on the West coast where he chilled out, climbed a misty mountain and watched waterfalls and sunsets.

When he got back we went to have another try at skiing in the north island and this time we had spectacular weather, just like when we did the Tongariro crossing. You could even smell the volcanic sulphur at the top of the ski runs! SUPERB DAY

The adventures didn't stop there, Malcolm had to go to Auckland during the week so he managed to get a ticket for the cirque de soleil show Totem which he said was incredible. Callum and I had a wee adventure with white water rafting off the highest commercially rafted waterfall - 7 meters. It was SCARY! and as the whole raft disappears under the water the force of the water up the nose was very disconcerting!
Cal loved it! - I was quite glad when it was over!!
