Fishing Success

So it begins the bitter sweet round of saying farewell for now to new friends - we have got to know such lovely folk here.

First off is a visit to our friends batch in Rotoiti, almost a year to the day that we went last year for Burns Night!

We had a great time chatting, eating and fishing with lovely friends, Maarche, Colin, John and Liz. And this time we had more luck catching some beautiful rainbow trout. Mine was the smallest but definitely won as the prettiest fish!
It was touch and go at first, until we saw a lovely big trout jumping near the surface trying to get rid of a hook in its mouth.

Then Malcolm realised the fish was actually on his line and it was a beauty!

Then a smaller but very pretty fish jumped on Shona's line!
A bit of a lull in the catching until Maarche and Liz both felt a fish on their lines only to realise that they were tangled and with Malcolm's line - but it turned out that there was a fish and it was actually on Malcolm's line!
Then Liz caught one as well - a good day

So back to the batch where Colin smoked one of Malcolm's fish for us, which was delicious. so we came back with a beautiful smoked fish and my pretty not-so-little trout to have on the BBQ!

Happy fishermen

On the way back from Rotoiti we stopped in Tirau, where they do awesome things with corrugated iron!
