A town like Alice - the Red Centre of Australia

We had a great crowd on this trip as you can see!

Here we changed guides and buses again, so Dave took over and saw us all the way to Adeliade.

Our first stop was to see some camels - these have become very well adapted to life in the outback after being introduced.
Rhian and Callum had their first ride on a camel! It looked easy until it got up!

We then headed off to look at Kata Tjuta which is a 36 domed rock feature near Uluru. We did see a rare Euro Wallaby here.

We than watched the full moon rise over the most famous of large rocks - Uluru and it was beautiful.

Just perfect.

That night after tasting camel sausages and kangaroo steaks (both lovely!) we had our first option to sleep in a swag - it is highly recommended and the mattresses were more comfortable than the ones in the tents!

The idea is to take your shoes inside the swag so the dingos don't run off with them and cover your head with the top flap if you want so nothing can creep in and join you in the night!
Actually the view of the stars and the milky way were glorious, and the creepy crawlies were nowhere to be seen.
